Gas Prices Down For Fifth Week, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down another penny this week, the fifth straight week of lower prices, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 27 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.58 per gallon, down one cent from last week and 12 cents over the last five weeks. The current price is eight cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.50. A year ago at this time the average price was $3.95, $1.37 more than today.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 31 cents, from a low of $2.459 to a high of $2.769. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.729 ($2.639-$2.969)/$2.749 ($2.749-$2.749)
Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.839 ($2.679-$2.999)/$2.849 ($2.849-$2.849)
Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.659 ($2.569-$2.699)/$2.649 ($2.649-$2.649)
