Gas Prices Fall Four Cents Once Again, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island continue their downward drop for the fourth straight week, notching a four-cent decline for the second week in a row, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 20 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.59 per gallon, down four cents from last week and eleven cents in the past month. The current price is 13 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.46. A year ago at this time the average price was $4.03, $1.44 more than today.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 23 cents, from a low of $2.459 to a high of $2.689. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.599 ($2.459-$2.689)/$2.539 ($2.529-$2.549)
Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.749 ($2.639-$2.969)/$2.739 ($2.719-$2.749)
Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.859 ($2.729-$2.999)/$2.839 ($2.819-2.849)
Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.649 ($2.499-$2.699)/$2.589 ($2.589-$2.589)
