(posted by Public Affairs on July 13 @ 10:14 )
Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down for the third straight week, with a four-cent decline that is the largest one-week drop since the end of 2008, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s July 13 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.63 per gallon, down four cents from last week and seven cents in the last three weeks. The current price is 11 cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.52. A year ago at this time the average price was $4.09, $1.46 more than today.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 31 cents, from a low of $2.459 to a high of $2.769. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
If your vehicle’s engine does not need premium fuel, using anything other than regular is simply a waste of money. Keep track of gas mileage. If you notice a decrease in fuel economy, your vehicle may not be operating at peak performance.
