| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down another four cents this week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 8 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.75 per gallon, dropping four cents from last week, and 22 cents in the last month. The current price is three cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.72. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.58—17 cents lower than today’s numbers. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 38 cents, from a low of $2.599 to a high of $2.979. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
