| For the second straight week, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up a penny over the previous week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 28 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.76 per gallon, one cent more than last week. The current price is equal to the national average for regular unleaded of $2.76. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.69. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 35 cents, from a low of $2.629 to a high of $2.979. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.769 ($2.629-$2.979)/$2.729 ($2.699-$2.749) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.929 ($2.729-$3.159)/$2.829 ($2.79- $2.849) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.999 ($2.829-$3.259)/$2.929 ($2.899-$2.949) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $3.029 ($2.949-$3.099)/$2.949 ($2.949-$2.949) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week As the Fourth of July approaches, motorists can waste fuel by sitting in stop and go traffic, not to mention making it a more stressful trip.
