Gas Prices Up A Penny, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on June 21 @ 09:22 )
The five-week decline of gasoline prices in Rhode Island has ended, but this week’s price is up just a penny over last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s June 21 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.75 per gallon, one cent more than last week, but still 12 cents less than a month ago. The current price is two cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.73. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.70.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.579 to a high of $2.979. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$2.759 ($2.579-$2.979)/$2.729 ($2.699-$2.749)
Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Summer drive vacation time has arrived, and some 90 percent of Americans use their vehicles for traveling. If your vehicle’s engine does not need premium fuel, using anything other than regular is simply a waste of money. And don’t top off your gas tank. In warm weather, fuel expansion can cause overflow.
