(posted by Public Affairs on June 16 @ 10:49 )
Gasoline prices locally have risen for the 11th consecutive week, once again leaving Rhode Island with prices roughly a dollar and fifteen cents a gallon higher than a year ago, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s June 16 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $4.109 per gallon, up three cents from last week, and about one dollar since the start of the year. Rhode Island is currently two cents above the national average of $4.08 for self-serve regular gasoline. Twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia now average $4.00 per gallon or higher. A year ago at this time, the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.96.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Don’t idle your car unnecessarily.
When your car idles, your fuel economy is zero miles per gallon. Rather than idle in the drive-through line, park and walk in. It’s better for your health, your pocketbook, and the environment.
