Gas Prices Hit $3.20, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up an average of two cents per gallon this week, and are now just three cents from the all-time high ever recorded locally, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s April 7 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.209 per gallon, up two cents from last week. The record high of $3.23 was reached in 2005 in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Rhode Island is currently 13 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.33. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.749.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 19 cents, from a low of $3.119 to a high of $3.309. Diesel, at $4.15, is one cent lower than last week. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

$4.159 ($4.099-$4.299)/$4.149 ($4.099-$4.199)
