Gas Prices Up Two Cents, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island continue to inch upward, a two cent per gallon increase this week, leaving prices five cents higher than a month ago, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s April 5 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.80 per gallon, two cents higher than last week. The price is also 14 cents higher than at the start of the year. The current price is two cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.82. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.05—75 cents lower than today’s numbers.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 16 cents, from a low of $2.709 to a high of $2.869. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
