Gas Prices Up Three More Cents, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have risen for the fourth consecutive week, and are now nine cents higher than a month ago and 21 cents higher than at the start of the year, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s April 26 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.87 per gallon, three cents higher than last week. The current price is two cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.85. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.08—79 cents lower than today’s numbers.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $2.739 to a high of $3.019. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
