| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up one cent this week, yet remain far below where they were at this point last year, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s April 20 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.06 per gallon, up a penny from last week. The current price is one cent above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.05, yet is still $1.37 less than the $3.43 found a year ago. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 18 cents, from a low of $1.989 to a high of $2.169. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
