| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island rise a penny after last weeks decline and diesel prices saw a moderate decrease in price of four cents says AAA Southern New England. AAA’s March 31st survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.189 per gallon, down one cent from last week. Rhode Island is ten cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.28. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.679. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 14 cents, from a low of $3.119 to a high of $3.259. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
