| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are unchanged from last week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s March 29 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.78 per gallon, the same price as last week. The current price is two cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.80, and it marks an eight cent increase in the last month. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.04—74 cents lower than today’s numbers. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 17 cents, from a low of $2.699 to a high of $2.869. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
