| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up a penny over last week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s March 22nd survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.78 per gallon, rising one cent from last week. The current price is one cent below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.82, and it marks a eight cent increase in the last month. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $1.96—82 cents lower than today’s numbers. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 13 cents, from a low of $2.739 to a high of $2.869. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.789 ($2.739-$2.869)/$2.819 ($2.819-$2.819) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.909 ($2.839-$3.029)/$2.949 ($2.94-$2.949) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $3.019 ($2.899-$3.179)/$3.049 ($3.049-$3.049) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.989 ($2.899-$3.099)/$3.049 ($3.049-$3.049) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week Spring is a great time to think about car maintenance.
