AAA’s March 16 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.95 per gallon, one cent less than last week. The current price is four cents more than the national average for regular unleaded of $1.91, and is $1.23 less than the $3.18 found a year ago.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 15 cents, from a low of $1.889 to a high of $2.039. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
If you own more than one car – especially if one of your vehicles is a less fuel-efficient vehicle such as a pickup truck, sport utility vehicle or van – use the more energy-conserving vehicle as often as possible.
