| For the second straight week, gasoline prices in Rhode Island remain unchanged, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s December 3 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.079 per gallon, the same price as last week and 40 cents more than seven weeks ago. Rhode Island is one cent above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.069. A year ago at this time the average price in Rhode Island was $2.309. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 21 cents, from a low of $2.989 to a high of $3.199. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
