Gas Prices Unchanged, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on December 22 @ 10:01 )
Following 13 straight weeks of falling, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are unchanged as travelers head out for their holiday trips, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s December 22 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.689 per gallon, the same price as last week. Prices remain at five-year lows, and the current price is $1.38 less than the $3.06 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 20 cents, from a low of $1.599 to a high of $1.799. Diesel is down six cents this week to $2.62. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Know the correct starting procedure for your car. Don’t race a cold engine to warm it up or allow it to idle for an extended time. Avoid rapid acceleration until the engine temperature is in the normal range. The engine will warm us faster under a light load, and emissions equipment will begin to function sooner.
