Steep Gas Price Decline Continues, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on December 1 @ 09:38 )
Gasoline prices in Rhode Island continue hovering well below the $2.00 per gallon mark, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s December 1 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.859 per gallon, down seven cents from last week, and $1.22 less than the $3.07 average at the close of Thanksgiving weekend 2007. The last time prices were this low was in mid-January 2005, when the unleaded regular average dropped to $1.82. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 37 cents, from a low of $1.789 to a high of $2.159. Diesel is down 4 cents this week to $2.92. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Forecasted warmer temperatures this week make it an ideal time to put together an emergency kit to store in your car this winter. Jumper cables, de-icer, snow scrapers, duct tape, a reflective safety vest, and a blanket and hat are all useful items to include.
Taking steps to prepare now can make a big difference in coping with a surprise cold weather emergency down the road.
