| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen for the ninth consecutive week, a period that has seen prices tumble by almost $1.50 per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s November 17 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.109 per gallon, 13 cents less than last week, a dollar less than a month ago, and $1.45 less than two months ago on September 15. Rhode Island is currently two cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $2.08. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $3.079. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 30 cents, from a low of $1.999 to a high of $2.299. Diesel is down 19 cents this week to $3.09. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
