Gas Prices Tumble 14 Cents, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on October 6 @ 09:55 )
Falling oil prices are leading to rapidly falling prices at the pumps, with a 14-cent drop in Rhode Island in the last week leaving prices at their lowest point locally in almost six months, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 6 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.329 per gallon, 14 cents less than last week. Prices haven’t been this low since around the middle of April. Rhode Island is currently 18 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.50. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.699.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 39 cents, from a low of $3.109 to a high of $3.499. Diesel is down 11 cents this week to $4.15. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
