| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen for the sixth straight week, leaving the average price at the lowest point since the beginning of June, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s October 13 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.50 per gallon, down four cents from last week and 19 cents since just before Labor Day. The current price is three cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.47. A year ago at this time the average price was $3.11. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $2.419 to a high of $2.699. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.509 ($2.419-$2.699)/$2.549 ($2.489-$2.599) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.689 ($2.539-$2.849)/$2.739 ($2.739-$2.739) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.799 ($2.639-$3.099)/$2.839 ($2.839-$2.839) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.689 ($2.579-$2.799)/$2.679 ($2.659-$2.699) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week Colder weather is on the way.
