Gas Prices Up For First Time in Four Months, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on January 5 @ 10:27 )
For the first time since last Labor Day, the average price of gasoline in Rhode Island has risen, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s January 5 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.669 per gallon, two cents more than last week. The current price is one cent less than the national average for regular unleaded of $1.67, and is still $1.47 less than the $3.13 found a year ago.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 24 cents, from a low of $1.559 to a high of $1.799. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve
$1.669 ($1.559-$1.799)/$1.669 ($1.639-$1.699)

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Check the air and fuel filters at least twice a year. Dirty filters increase fuel consumption and can cause poor performance.
