Gas Prices Rise Three Cents, Says AAA

For the third week in a row, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up, this time
edging up 3 cents over last week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s November 2 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.70 per gallon, rising 3 cents from last week, and 20 cents
from three weeks ago. The current price is one cent above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.69. A year ago at this time the Ocean State’s average price was $2.35—35 cents lower than today’s numbers.The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 17 cents, from a low of $2.629 to a high of $2.799. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

For the first time in seven weeks, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up, jumping four cents since last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 19 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.54 per gallon, rising four cents from last week. The current price is two cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.46. Nationally, prices
rose by 7 cents, and a year ago at this time the national average price was $2.86—32 cents higher than today’s numbers.

Gasoline prices in Rhode Island have fallen for the sixth straight week, leaving the average price at the lowest point since the beginning of June, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 13 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.50 per gallon, down four cents from last week and 19 cents since just before Labor Day. The current price is three cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.47. A year ago at this time the average price was $3.11.

For the fourth straight week, gasoline prices in Rhode Island are trending downward, falling this time by an average of five cents, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 28 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.58 per gallon, dropping five cents from last week, and eleven cents in the last month. The current price is nine cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.49. It is 97 cents less than at this time a year ago, when regular unleaded fuel averaged $3.46.
