| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down a penny this week, the first drop in price in the last eleven weeks, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 29 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.69 per gallon, down one cent from last week and up $1.03 since the start of the year. The current price is six cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.63. A year ago at this time the average price was $4.09, $1.40 more than today. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 26 cents, from a low of $2.539 to a high of $2.799. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. | Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up an average of seven cents this week, the ninth straight week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 15 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.65 per gallon, up seven cents from last week and 99 cents since the start of the year. The current price is one cent below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.66. A year ago at this time the average price of $4.10 was, and remains, the highest price ever recorded by AAA in Rhode Island. Today’s price is $1.45 less than a year ago. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 17 cents, from a low of $2.569 to a high of $2.739. AAA’s June 8 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.58 per gallon, up nine cents from last week and 92 cents since the start of the year. The current price is three cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.61. At this point last year the average price had reached $4.07, leaving today’s price $1.49 less than a year ago at this time. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 15 cents, from a low of $2.519 to a high of $2.669. AAA’s June 1 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.49 per gallon, up six cents from last week and 83 cents since the start of the year. The current price is two cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.51. At this point last year the average price had reached $4.01, leaving today’s price $1.52 less than a year ago at this time. | Just like last year, the Monday before the Memorial Day weekend is seeing a ten-cent increase in the price of gasoline, the fifth straight week of higher prices in Rhode Island, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s May 18 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.33 per gallon, up 10 cents from last week and 27 cents over the last month, and is two cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.31. A year ago at this time, the price had also risen by ten cents over the previous week, but stood at $3.80, $1.47 less than the price today.
