| Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down for the second consecutive week, this time by an average of two cents per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s November 16 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.67 per gallon, down two cents from last week and three cents in the last two weeks. The current price is four cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.63. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.10—57 cents lower than today’s numbers. The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 25 cents, from a low of $2.589 to a high of $2.839. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. AAA’s November 9 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.69 per gallon, down one cent from last week. Prices are now at the same level as just before Labor Day. The current price is three cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.66. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.23—46 cents lower than today’s numbers.
