Gas Prices Tumble 14 Cents, Says AAA

Falling oil prices are leading to rapidly falling prices at the pumps, with a 14-cent drop in Rhode Island in the last week leaving prices at their lowest point locally in almost six months, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 6 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.329 per gallon, 14 cents less than last week. Prices haven’t been this low since around the middle of April. Rhode Island is currently 18 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.50. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.699.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 39 cents, from a low of $3.109 to a high of $3.499. Diesel is down 11 cents this week to $4.15. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

For the first time since late April, the average price of gasoline in Rhode Island has fallen under the $3.50 mark, thanks to a six-cent decrease in the last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 29 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.469 per gallon, six cents less than last week and 64 cents lower than the record high of $4.10 back on July 7. Rhode Island is currently 18 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.64. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.699.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 26 cents, from a low of $3.319 to a high of $3.579. Diesel is down three cents this week to $4.26. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

After a week unchanged, gasoline prices in Rhode Island returned to their recent downward trend, dropping an average of three cents this week, leaving prices at their lowest point locally since late April, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 22 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.529 per gallon, three cents less than last week and 58 cents lower than the record high of $4.10 back on July 7. Rhode Island is currently 21 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.73. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.669.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 34 cents, from a low of $3.359 to a high of $3.699. Diesel is down nine cents this week to $4.29. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

The impact of Hurricane Ike on gasoline prices is not being immediately felt in Rhode Island, as prices today are the same as a week ago, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 15 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.559 per gallon, the same as last week and 55 cents lower than the record high of $4.10 back on July 7. Rhode Island is currently 29 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.84. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.659.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $3.419 to a high of $3.699. Diesel is down eight cents this week to $4.38. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

After rising slightly a week ago, gasoline prices in Rhode Island have returned to the downward path, and are down an average of four cents this week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 8 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.559 per gallon, down four cents from last week but still 55 cents lower than the record high of $4.10 back on July 7. Rhode Island is currently 10 cents below the national average of self-serve regular of $3.65. A year ago at this time the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in Rhode Island was $2.679.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $3.419 to a high of $3.699. Diesel is down three cents this week to $4.46.
