Gas Prices Down Six Cents, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on September 22 @ 10:15 )
One week after jumping six cents in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, gasoline prices in Massachusetts reversed themselves, with prices today down six cents over last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 22 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.559 per gallon, six cents less than last week and the lowest prices have been in Massachusetts since early May. Massachusetts is currently 18 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.739. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.679.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 53 cents, from a low of $3.429 to a high of $3.959. Diesel fell 12 cents last week to $4.27.
