| After falling for eight consecutive weeks, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are unchanged this week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s September 17 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.659 per gallon, the same price as last week. Massachusetts is currently 13 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.789. A year ago at this time the average price was $2.529. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 46 cents, from a low of $2.539 to a high of $2.999. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
