(posted by Public Affairs on September 14 @ 11:32 )
For the second straight week, gasoline prices in Massachusetts have fallen, this time by a penny, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s September 14 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.609 per gallon, down one cent from last week and four cents from two weeks ago. The current price is three cents above the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.57, and is $1.01 less than the $3.61 found this time a year ago.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 44 cents, from a low of $2.459 to a high of $2.899. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Inflate tires according to manufacturer recommendations. Under-inflated tires are a safety hazard and can cut fuel economy by as much as two percent per pound of pressure below the recommended level.
