Gas Prices Down Eight More Cents, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down another eight cents this week, a six-week decline that has seen prices fall an average of 38 cents per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s August 18 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.709 per gallon, 8 cents less than last week and 38 cents from the record high of $4.08 back on July 7. Massachusetts is currently four cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.749. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.729.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 68 cents, from a low of $3.519 to a high of $4.199. Diesel fell 9 cents last week to $4.54. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
