| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down once again this week, falling three cents over last week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 8 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.739 per gallon, down three cents from last week. The current price is one penny above the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.72. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.51, 22 cents lower than today’s average. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.599 to a high of $2.999. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.739 ($2.599-$2.999)/$2.869 ($2.799-$3.009) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.869 ($2.659-$3.199)/$2.999 ($2.899-$3.109) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.979 ($2.759-$3.399)/$3.099 ($2.999-$3.209) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.979 ($2.839-$3.099)/$3.079 ($2.899-$3.249) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week If you’re planning summer travel, take the time to properly inflate your tires.
