| Gas Prices Remain Unchanged, Says AAA (posted by Public Affairs on June 30 @ 11:02 ) |
| As Massachusetts drivers head out for their Fourth of July vacations, they will find gasoline prices high, but relatively stable, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s June 30 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $4.069 per gallon, the same price as the last two weeks. Massachusetts is currently two cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $4.089. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.929. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 46 cents, from a low of $3.939 to a high of $4.399. Diesel fell six cents to $4.86. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $4.069 ($3.939-$4.399)/$4.179 ($4.099-$4.259) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $4.179 ($3.969-$4.499)/$4.309 ($4.199-$4.399) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $4.289 ($4.039-$4.599)/$4.419 ($4.299-$4.509) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $4.869 ($4.779-$4.999)/$4.919 ($4.799-$4.999) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week Traffic can get heavy during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. AAA suggests allowing extra time to get to your destination, which will make it a less stressful ride. Aggressive driving, especially hard stop and go driving, can decrease fuel economy, as can driving on the highway at 75 miles-per-hour instead of 65.
