AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
As the Fourth of July approaches, motorists can waste fuel by sitting in stop and go traffic, not to mention making it a more stressful trip. Plan ahead, and try to leave for your destination when chances are best that the traffic will be light.

AAA estimates that 40.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this weekend, a 2.8 percent from the 39.2 million who traveled last year. AAA has never before projected more than 40 million travelers for a holiday weekend. Approximately 33.9 million travelers (84% of all holiday travelers) expect to go by motor vehicle, a 2.6 percent increase from the 33.1 million who drove a year ago. Another 4.6 million plan to travel by airplane, up 4.2 percent from last Fourth of July. A projected 1.8 million will go by train, bus or other means of transportation, up from 1.7 million a year ago.
