Wayne Budd Elected Vice Chairman of National AAA Board

Wayne A. Budd, Senior Counsel with the Boston law firm of Goodwin Procter, LLP, and a member of the Board of Directors of AAA Southern New England, was elected Vice Chairman of AAA’s national Board of Directors at the Board’s annual meeting held in April in Orlando, Florida.
Mr. Budd, a former U.S. Attorney and former Associate Attorney General of the United States, has served on the Board of AAA Southern New England since 1997. He also served on the AAA Massachusetts board from 1982 to 1997.
Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, where he had a previous tenure as Senior Partner from 1993-1996, Mr. Budd was Group President, New England for Verizon and Senior Executive Vice President and General Counsel for John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. in Boston.
Currently, Mr. Budd serves as a trustee of Wheaton College. He is a member and past president of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Massachusetts Black Lawyers’ Association.
Mr. Budd is a graduate of Boston College and Wayne State University Law School. A native of Springfield and a resident of Boston, he is married to Jacqueline (Simmons) Budd and is the father of three adult daughters and seven grandchildren.

Gas Prices Up Another Six Cents, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts have risen for the eighth consecutive week, and are moving closer to a statewide average of $4.00 per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s June 2 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.969 per gallon, six cents more than last week and 91 cents since the start of the year. Massachusetts is currently one cent below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.979. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $3.039.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 35 cents, from a low of $3.849 to a high of $4.199. Diesel rose three cents last week to $4.91. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
