(posted by Public Affairs on June 16 @ 10:52 )
Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are on the rise for the tenth consecutive week, up three cents from the start of last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s June 16 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $4.069 per gallon, up 3 cents from last week, and up slightly more than a dollar since the start of the year. Massachusetts is currently two cents below the national average of $4.08 for regular unleaded gasoline. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was $2.959.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $3.959 to a high of $4.359. There is some good news: diesel fuel dropped three cents this week to $4.93. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Don’t idle your car unnecessarily. When your car idles, your fuel economy is zero miles per gallon. Rather than idle in the drive-through line,
park and walk in. It’s better for your health,
your pocketbook, and your car’s fuel economy.
