Gas Prices Up Another Seven Cents, Says AAA

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts jumped another seven cents last week, the sixth consecutive week of increases, according to AAA Southern New England.

AAA’s May 19 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.759 per gallon, seven cents more than last week and 70 cents since the start of the year. Massachusetts is currently four cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.799. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $3.039.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 36 cents, from a low of $3.639 to a high of $3.999. Diesel rose 12 cents last week to $4.60. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
