| Higher crude oil prices over the past few weeks have translated into higher prices at the pump, with gasoline prices in Massachusetts up an average of 15 cents per gallon in just the last week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s May 11 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.189 per gallon, up 15 cents from last week. The price has risen 22 cents over the last month, and is four cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.22. Today’s price is $1.50 less than the $3.68 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $2.079 to a high of $2.359. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
