| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down a penny this week averaging $1.959 per gallon. This slight decrease in price follows three weeks of increases, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s April 6th survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.959 per gallon, 33 cents more than the start of the year. The current price is eight cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.03. This weeks price is $1.19 less than the $3.14 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 24 cents, from a low of $1.859 to a high of $2.099. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $1.959 ($1.859-$2.099)/$2.049 ($1.979-$2.099) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.079 ($1.909-$2.339)/$2.189 ($2.079-$2.299) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.199 ($2.009-$2.459)/$2.269 ($2.279-$2.399) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.479 ($2.299-$2.699)/$2.429 ($2.369-$2.479) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week The more aerodynamic your vehicle the better the fuel economy.
