| After rising for two weeks, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are unchanged this week, leaving prices 14 cents higher than at the start of the year, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s April 19 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.769 per gallon, the same price as last week. The current price is ten cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.86. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $1.99, 77 cents lower than today’s average. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 31 cents, from a low of $2.639 to a high of $2.949. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.769 ($2.639-$2.949)/$2.859 ($2.799-$2.899) Midgrade Unleaded $2.879 ($2.679-$3.079)/$2.989 ($2.969-$2.999) Premium Unleaded $2.979 ($2.789-$3.299)/$3.089 ($3.069-$3.099) Diesel $3.039 ($2.979-$3.199)/$3.109 ($3.089-$3.129) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week If you must replace a gas cap, make sure it is the right one for your car.
