| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up three cents this week following a slow but steady price increase since the beginning of the year, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s March 23rd survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.899 per gallon, up three cents from last week. The current price is six cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $1.95, and the price is $1.24 less than the $3.13 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 28 cents, from a low of $1.819 to a high of $2.099. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $1.899 ($1.819-$2.099)/$1.979 ($1.879-$2.059) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.009 ($1.829-$2.299)/$2.149 ($1.979-$2.299) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.139 ($1.929-$2.399)/$2.229 ($2.079-$2.399) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.439 ($2.299-$2.699)/$2.329 ($2.279-$2.369) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week Now that Spring is here, it is a great opportunity to do a little preventative maintenance to your vehicle.
