| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up two cents this week over last, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s March 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.709 per gallon, climbing two cents from last week. The current price is nine cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.79, and it marks a seven cent increase in the last month. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was $1.86, 84 cents lower than today’s average. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 30 cents, from a low of $2.599 to a high of $2.899. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.709 ($2.599-$2.899)/$2.849 ($2.799-$2.879) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.819 ($2.709-$3.059)/$2.979 ($2.969-$2.999) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.929 ($2.799-$3.259)/$3.079 ($3.069-$3.099) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.969 ($2.889-$3.099)/$2.999 ($2.949-$3.059) AAA Driving Tip of the Week In the wake of daylight saving time, many of us lose sleep.
