| The average price of gasoline in Massachusetts has passed the $1.80 mark after rising for the fourth consecutive week, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s February 2 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.829 per gallon, five cents more than last week and 20 cents more than four weeks ago. The current price is six cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $1.88, and the price is $1.15 less than the $2.97 found this time a year ago. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 22 cents, from a low of $1.719 to a high of $1.939. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
