| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts have fallen for the fourth consecutive week, this week by three cents, and now average 11 cents less than at the start of the year, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s February 11 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.949 per gallon, down three cents from last week and 11 cents less than during the first week of January. Massachusetts is currently one cent below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.959. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.169. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.779 to a high of $3.179. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
