| Gas Prices Up Three Cents, Says AAA (posted by Public Affairs on December 31 @ 09:58 ) |
| After little or no movement since Thanksgiving, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are three cents higher today, and will finish the year one penny short of the 2007 high point, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s December 31 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.039 per gallon, up three cents from last week and just a penny short of the $3.04 found back on Memorial Day. Massachusetts is currently one cent below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.049. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.349. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 26 cents, from a low of $2.939 to a high of $3.199. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
