| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts have fallen for the 13th straight week, an eight-cent drop that leaves prices at their lowest point since the winter of 2004, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s December 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.669 per gallon, eight cents less than last week, and $2.42 less than the record high of $4.08 back in July. The last time prices were this low was in mid-February, 2004. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $1.499 to a high of $1.899. Diesel fell 17 cents last week to $2.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
