| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts continue hovering well below the $2.00 per gallon, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s December 1 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.849 per gallon, 7 cents less than last week, and $1.18 less than the $3.02 average at the close of Thanksgiving weekend 2007. The last time prices dropped this low was in late January of 2005, when the unleaded average fell to $1.82. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 52 cents, from a low of $1.679 to a high of $2.199. Diesel fell 1 cent last week to $2.99. Jumper cables, de-icer, snow scrapers, duct tape, a reflective safety vest, and a blanket and hat are all handy items to include. Taking these steps to prepare now can make all the difference in coping with a cold weather emergency down the road.
