| For the fourth week in a row, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up, this week by just a penny, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s November 9 survey of prices in the Bay State finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.649 per gallon, rising one cent from last week. The current price is two cents below the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.66. A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $2.28, 36 cents lower than today’s average. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 48 cents, from a low of $2.419 to a high of $2.899. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time. Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows: Regular Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.649 ($2.419-$2.899)/$2.749 ($2.699-$2.829) Midgrade Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.759 ($2.519-$2.999)/$2.929 ($2.859-$2.999) Premium Unleaded - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.869 ($2.619-$3.199)/$2.999 ($2.899-$3.099) Diesel - Self Serve/Full Serve $2.839 ($2.759-$2.969)/$2.989 ($2.949-$3.019) AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week Fuel is part of the total cost of vehicle ownership, so fuel conservation should be an important factor when choosing a new vehicle.
