Gas Prices Fall Another 18 Cents, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on November 3 @ 10:15 )
You have to go all the way back to March of 2007 to find a time when gas prices were this low in Massachusetts, as an 18-cent drop over the last week continues the recent pattern of plummeting prices, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s November 3 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.459 per gallon, 18 cents less than last week, and down 87 cents in just the last month. Prices were last this low in March of last year when they were at $2.44. Massachusetts is currently four cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.419. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.849.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is $1.04, from a low of $2.159 to a high of $3.199. Diesel fell 14 cents last week to $3.45. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week
Know the correct starting procedure for your car. Don’t race a cold engine to warm it up or allow it to idle for an extended time. Avoid rapid acceleration until the engine temperature is in the normal range. The engine will warm up faster under a light load, and emissions equipment will begin to function sooner.
