| Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up for the sixth consecutive week, and now top the $3.00 per gallon mark, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s November 26 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.019 per gallon, two cents more than last week and 37 cents more than six weeks ago when the latest round of increases began. The high point for Massachusetts this year was back on May 28 when regular unleaded reached an average of $3.049 per gallon. Massachusetts is currently seven cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.089. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.199. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 27 cents, from a low of $2.899 to a high of $3.169. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
