Gas Prices Tumble 15 Cents, Says AAA
(posted by Public Affairs on October 6 @ 10:11 )
Falling oil prices are leading to rapidly falling prices at the pumps, with a 15-cent drop in Massachusetts in the last week leaving prices at their lowest point locally in almost six months, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 6 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.329 per gallon, 15 cents less than last week. Prices haven’t been this low since around the middle of April. Massachusetts is currently 18 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.509. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.679.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 76 cents, from a low of $3.099 to a high of $3.859. Diesel fell 12 cents last week to $4.06. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
Today’s local gas prices and their ranges are as follows:
