| Higher costs for crude oil have made it to the gas pumps, as gasoline prices in Massachusetts jumped across all self and full service grades last week, including a three-cent increase in the price of self serve unleaded, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s October 22 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.679 per gallon, three cents more than last week. Massachusetts is currently 14 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.819. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.149. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 36 cents, from a low of $2.539 to a high of $2.899. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
