With gasoline prices dropping another penny in the last week in Massachusetts, they are the lowest they’ve been since early April, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s October 15 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.649 per gallon, one cent less than last week and the lowest it’s been since April 2, when it was $2.639 per gallon. Massachusetts is currently 11 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $2.759. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was nearing the end of a 12-week decline and was down to $2.179. The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 47 cents, from a low of $2.529 to a high of $2.999. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every time.
