| Lower oil prices continue to contribute to plunging pump prices, with an 18-cent drop in Massachusetts in the last week pushing the average price closer to $3.00 per gallon, and bringing regular unleaded to its lowest price point locally since March, according to AAA Southern New England. AAA’s October 14 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.149 per gallon, 18 cents less than last week. Massachusetts is currently 2 cents below the national average for regular unleaded of $3.169. A year ago at this time the average price in Massachusetts was $2.649.
